The history of our family goes back to Andreas Hofer, the "Sandwirt", whose family ran an inn in old Tyrol. That is where our ancestors came from under the regency of Empress Maria Theresia to settle at Lake Neusiedl in Burgenland. Since then, and even before, wine has played a central role in our family.
We were actually born into wine. Our parents laid the foundation to quality winemaking in the 1960s and 70s, when they transformed the agricultural operation into a first-class wine estate by specializing in viticulture and vinification.
Today, our vineyard area has grown to 15 hectares and we tend 60,000 vines by hand. From these, some 80,000 to 100,000 bottles of wine are produced per year. We are a typical family enterprise, which continues its proven tradition without closing our eyes to progress. To us, modification and innovation are the essentials of a successful development.
Closeness to our customers is our key concern. We love to receive visitors and enjoy discussions about wine, life and everything that is bothering our guests. Our small Restaurant has developed into a real communication center since its foundation in 1980. It's a place to stop and relax and reflect. Here, you can enjoy our wines by the glass and snack on some epicurian treats all through the year - with the romantic cellar street offering a perfect setting.
